A cantora e produtora musical Venus Delano relata suas experiências amorosas na primeira parte do seu projeto ENIGMA (part one: Suburbia). Dividido em duas partes, Venus fala sobre os relacionamentos do século 21 e como eles são afetados pelas redes sociais. Na primeira parte, Venus trata tudo de forma mais humana, e desabafa sobre a cobrança que tem para se encaixar nos padrões de mulher perfeita dessa nova era, e de como os relacionamentos se afetam por isso.
Toda a estética se baseia em festas modernas, trazendo essa sensação de anestesia também na sonoridade. Em uma primeira parte de apenas 25 minutos inteiramente produzida por Venus, tudo é muito intimista e importantemente debatido, servindo de apresentação para os próximos passos de Venus como artista. O projeto só está disponível digitalmente, por ainda não se tratar do álbum completo.

O projeto se inicia com a faixa título, já lançada anteriormente junto a um short film. Vencedora da Best New Track da revista Pitchfork, a música retrata o início de um relacionamento sem preparo. Justamente por não conhecerem um ao outro muito bem, as coisas já não começam certas.
Essa música representa muito bem o restante do projeto, e por isso pode ser considerada um resumo do que vem pela frente.

Em Thunder, esse relacionamento já está a beira do término. Mas ao invés de se resolverem, preferem fingir que nada está acontecendo, justamente pela pressão do "casal perfeito". A música tem uma produção simples, mas ainda profunda o suficiente pra dar o contexto do álbum.
A letra é uma das mais frágeis de todo o projeto, porque ela também expõe os medos de Venus. Isso também é nítido na sua voz trêmula por toda a música.

3. Suburbia 03:57
Suburbia é o nome da primeira parte de ENIGMA por um só motivo: nessa música, o relacionamento enfim dá-se um ponto final e o casal cansa de fingir que está tudo bem. Nessa decisão, Venus faz um dos desabafos mais sinceros que já escreveu (sendo essa uma composição solo), acompanhada de um instrumental igualmente simples mas tocante igual na faixa anterior.
Suburbia é provavelmente a melhor música de todo o álbum e assim como a primeira faixa, expõe muito sobre o objetivo do projeto, mas de uma forma mais triste e direta. Aliás, "Suburbia" foi o nome de um seriado muito famoso nos anos 80, protagonizado por um casal feliz que enfrentava aventuras e tinham uma paixão genuína.

My Time é a única música do projeto que não fala de amor e sim de cuidado próprio. Nessa música, Venus prefere tomar um tempo pra si mesma e colocar os pensamentos no lugar. Ela diz o quanto é bom termos nosso próprio tempo, pro bem da nossa saúde mental.

Agora que ela está recuperada mentalmente, ela finalmente desabafa com seu cônjuge e reclama sobre a pressão que sente em ser uma "lenda viva". A música funciona como um grito de liberdade para todos que se sentem forçados a serem algo que não podem ser. Soa como uma música de término, mas na verdade é de reconciliação por finalmente resolverem o maior problema do relacionamento.
